Whilst I was looking for a bow tie, I've discovered this brand from Edinburgh: The Edinburgh Bow Tie Co. I already liked the name as it sounds local and celebrates Scotland. I contacted their funder, Hannah Carpenter who told me a bit more about Edinburgh Bow Tie.
It was launched in 2012 and specialises in luxury handmade men's accessories. She says "Our brand started when I was asked to kit-out some of Edinburgh's bartenders with bow ties. The demand grew, as did the range, and the brand."
You'll find pre-tied bow ties and self-ties in different styles and different materials. All of them are high-quality thanks to the materials they use and the talented handmade process. "All of our products are handmade in our Edinburgh studio. We source our fabrics as locally as we can. Most of them are woven in the UK. The quality of our brand comes from the materials we use, 100% wools, silks and cottons, and the craftsmanship that goes into each one, as each is hand finished. "
What also convinced me is the make-to-order offer. Big men do struggle to find bow ties that fit. So here is the answer: "All of our stock bow ties are all fully adjustable up to about 20". We do of course make-to-order for no extra cost, and with no minimum order, so anything can be requested." Isn't that so convenient?
But it's not only about sizes. It's also about shapes, materials, colours.. Just tell them what you want and their team will jump on it to create YOUR perfect bow tie.
Here is just a simple of their talent:
